OUR STORY

Founded in 2010, Pauperism Project, Inc. has extended its services to hundreds of men, women and children whom are in need due to homelessness within the Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia (DMV) area. Pauperism Project, Inc. provides food, clothing, toiletries, blankets and counsel to the homeless community. As a commitment to our mission, our services are guided by spiritual principles, reminding those on the fringe of society, that there is a God who loves them unconditionally.

Our strategic partnerships with local businesses, sponsors and shelters have allowed Pauperism Project, Inc. to be the recipient of basic necessity items which are distributed to the homeless through quarterly outreach events in Franklin Square Park.

Our keystone program, Bibles and Blankets has provided warmth and a pathway to a loving God, to over 1,000 members of the homeless population within the DMV area. Meeting a practical need affords the unique opportunity for prayer, fellowship and spiritual guidance to the less fortunate.

Pauperism Project, Inc. remains dedicated to helping individuals and families overcome the homeless cycle. Through compassionate conversation and pamphlet distribution, we share potentially life changing information about services available to the less fortunate including shelters, food banks, veterans programs, health facilities and safe havens of worship.

As a strong advocate for the homeless community, Pauperism Project, Inc. is committed to dispelling the myths and stereotypes of homelessness, through community awareness programs amongst churches and schools. Our workshops bring visibility to an often ignored sector of society through meaningful dialogue and education.

Pauperism Project, Inc. believes civic engagement to be essential in the eradication of homelessness. Our volunteer program creates an indispensable bridge between the fortunate and less fortunate. Please join us.

Pauperism Project, Inc’s mission is to aid those in destitute conditions by providing necessities to those that are chronically homeless in the D.C. area. We distribute, through street outreach, food, first aid kits, blankets and clothing that are all obtained through donations from volunteers and local teachers.
